Student creates 'UF mobile' application

Lauren Vaught, 20, a junior at the University of Florida, doesn't have fond memories of the first few weeks of her freshman year when she had to carry around a campus map and ask upperclassmen for directions to her classes.
"This campus is so massive that navigating around it can be tricky," she said.
But three years later and thanks to a new iPhone application, students and visitors to UF's 2,000-acre campus will be able to easily maneuver their way around with a couple clicks on their smartphone's touch screen.
The app, called "UF mobile," features a GPS-enabled campus map, a feed from the UF news Web site, the events calendar from the Reitz Union Web site and access to UF's directory, all in one convenient location.
